Perlite
is a term for naturally occurring silicous rock and it expands
from four to twenty times its original volume. This expansion is
due to the presence of two to six percent combined water in the
crude perlite rock. When quickly heated to above 871°C, the
crude rock pops in a manner similar to popcorn as the combined
water vaporizes and creates countless tiny bubbles which account
for the amazing light weight and other exceptional physical
properties of expanded perlite.
Perlite
rock is a light gray, its colour changes to white after
expansion. Expanded perlite can be manufactured to weigh as
little as 2 pounds per cubic foot (32kg/m3) making it adaptable
for numerous applications.
Perlite offers far better control over water usage and makes
what water is used more available to the plants.
Our Perlite
is available in bags of 150 ltr. and in Grow-bags of two measures:
a) Grow-bags length
120 cm, capacity 27 ltrs.
b) Grow-bags length
100 cm, capacity 21 ltrs.
Grow-bags are of
special polietilene, white externally and black interiorly, of long duration. Grow-bags
have some holes to drain of the solution in excess and superiorly for the
lodging (in the upper part the holes can be also madeto measure according to the applications of the grower). |
